Métropolis has been chosen by the Grand Paris Métropole to implement charging stations for electric vehicles in 130 metropolitan municipalities (excluding the city of Paris). This development is in line with the French government’s objective of opening 100,000 charging points by the end of 2021.
Métropolis is now connected to GIREVE’s platform to open its network to roaming, allowing EV drivers to access and pay their charge with their usual mobile app or badge.
“Opening the network to roaming is an essential step in developing large-scale electric mobility and facilitating access to charging. GIREVE’s offer enables us to keep a high quality of service for all EV drivers charging on our network.” Benoit Thiéblin, President of Metropolis
The first chargers were installed at the end of 2020 in Rueil-Malmaison. By 2022, Metropolis will develop a network of EV charging stations with nearly 5,000 charging points including 250 fast charging points, throughout the Grand Paris metropolitan area (excluding Paris).
The project plans to replace Autolib terminals with more efficient stations delivering a charge between 3 and 150 kW and divided into three types of pools: Proximity, City and Express.
Métropolis is an industrial consortium composed of e-Totem, SPIE, and SIIT.
