Position paper: EV charging and MaaS
MaaS should integrate EV Charging as it is a growing transportation mode. How can MaaS position themselves? Read our position paper!
MaaS (mobility-as-a-service) refers to digital systems that offer users mobility as a service. It is often a mobile app providing users with information, booking and ticket payment for a wide variety of means of transportation. For example, a customer can use a single mobile application to book, buy and validate his or her train ticket, and use the same app to charge his or her electric car to a charging station.
One of the main stakes of MaaS is to increase car sharing instead of car ownership to reduce gas emission and traffic jam. MaaS could induce EV drivers to leave EVs parked to charge at strategic places and use other means of transports while in the city.
