Since 2021, AVERE and the Ministry of Energy Transition have been collaborating to produce the monthly charging barometer. The barometer is based on data from Gireve, the e-mobility expert. This barometer provides benchmark information on the number of publicly accessible charging points in France, their geographical distribution, their power. Regional indicators are also available. Additionally, the barometer displays the usage of charging points, their availability rate and session volumes.
Since January , 6,648 new charging stations have been installed across the country. These installations have made 22,616 new charging points available to the public.
At the end of the first half of 2023, we observed a slowdown in deployments, which appears to have been curbed in July with a little over 3,000 installations carried out despite the summer vacations. We will of course continue to monitor these developments, as we do every month.

On the other hand, we note that the availability of charging points in France has remained steady at 84% since the beginning of 2023. Indeed, charging points under repair or out of service are considered unavailable. The indicators are positive for holidaymakers in August, who can also rely on the presence of fast charging stations covering 99% of the concessionaire highway network.
