77,000 charging points open to the public in France according to the recharging barometer of AVERE France and the Ministry of Ecology based on Gireve data.

77,000 charging points in France – November 2022

On November 31st, 2022, 77,318 charging points are open to the public in France. There is an average of 115 charging points per 100,000 inhabitants. The number has increased by 51% compared to the same month in 2021, 167% compared to 2020 and 2.7% compared to October, 2022.

I think it is interesting to look at the increase of high-power charging points, delivering a power of 50 kW or more: last month, we passed the symbolic number of 5,000, which is almost 400 more than in October 2022, representing an 8% increase between October and November.

Every month, the EVSE barometer is produced by AVERE and the Ministry of Energy Transition. This barometer is based on the database of Gireve, the e-mobility expert. The monthly charging barometer displays the number of charging points on the territory.

Since October, 2022, the barometer has been displaying indicators on the use of public charging stations. A charging point is considered available if it is neither under maintenance nor out of service. The average availability rate of a charging point has reached 84% in France. This is a 2% increase compared to the previous month. Thanks to Gireve’s database, the average number of charging sessions per month per charging point has also been included. As for November, 1 charging point delivered an average of 14 charging sessions in a month. Holiday is a factor among others that can increase the number of charging sessions.
