The barometer of charging points in France is produced by Avere and the Ministry of Energy Transition on the basis of data from Gireve.

Since 2021, AVERE and the Ministry of Energy Transition have been collaborating to produce the monthly charging barometer. The barometer is based on data from Gireve, the e-mobility expert. This barometer provides benchmark information on the number of publicly accessible charging points in France, their geographical distribution, their power. Regional indicators are also available. Additionally, the barometer displays the usage of charging points, their availability rate and session volumes.

Since January , 7,373 new charging stations have been installed across the country. These installations have made 25,830 new charging points available to the public.

Travellers in August can count on the fact that 99% of the motorway network under concession is equipped with fast charging.

Clément Molizon, General Secretary of Avere-France

The average number of charging session per charging point has also increased in August, by approximately 20% compared to the first semester of 2023. The availability rate of fast charging points -the number of which is also increasing- has also improved this summer (86% in August). Charging points under repair or out of service are considered unavailable.
