March 2020 : 29 578 Charging Points In France

There are now 29,578 charging points in France. This represents a 15% increase compared to March, 2019 and a 3% increase over the first quarter of the year. France now offers 1 charging point for 8 full electric vehicles, or 1 for 11 with hybrids included. This figure complies with European recommendations of 1 charging point for 10 EV, but it has been decreasing over the last few years.

To Bruno Lebrun, CEO of GIREVE, “public charging is a necessary option before getting home for a full charge, or for those who do not have charging options at home. Throughout the confinement period, public charging are temporarily less frequently used but the need will grow again once the situation settles and summer starts. In the meantime, we warmly support both personal and professional initiatives, to help NHS working charge for free during the COVID-19 crisis.”
