As a committed player and following the continuous development of its work with national and European authorities, Gireve announces the creation of an in-house division dedicated to strategy and innovation. With this creation, Gireve aims at preparing tomorrow’s challenges today. It is also designed to bring Gireve’s expertise to industry working groups. It will thus ensure alignment and a strategic link between Gireve’s management and developments within the ecosystem.

A hub dedicated to innovation, strategy and external relations
For over 10 years, Gireve has actively joined numerous working groups to structure and deploy an open and robust ecosystem. This goes from the contribution to the STF starting in 2016, with joint recommendations for a PKI architecture, to the publication of a white paper on the ISO 15118 standard in 2018. Our team worked on the aVEnir smart charging project until 2022. It is part of the OMEGA-X project regarding Data Spaces in electric mobility. Furthermore, our experts have been contributing to the EVRoaming Foundation since it started. They also helped publish Plug&Charge resources within CharIN and the Mobena framework.
The company remains active in various ecosystem groups covering technology, best practices, and governance. We help co-build tomorrow’s European mobility with bodies like ChargeUp Europe, e-Mobility Europe, CharIN, and e-Violin. Consequently, we created a new department for innovation, strategy, and external relations in November 2025. This department ensures consistency across activities and maximises the impact of our past and ongoing work.
At the heart of strategy, a recognised expertise
The creation and development of this division will be led by Jean-Marc Rives, Gireve’s current Chief Technical Officer. He takes the head of the department to strengthen the brand’s positioning and affirm its strategy.
An active member of working groups for over 10 years, Mr. Rives is in charge of developing the strategy. He associates innovation and ecosystem interactions, thanks to his expertise and knowledge of the sector.

“It is the logical continuation of our activities’ development,” comments Jean-Marc Rives, Director of Strategy, Innovation, and External Relations. “It seems necessary to us to combine forward-looking vision, strategic dimension, and technical expertise within one division. This allows us to provide solutions that address the challenges ahead. Collective work and reflections are intensifying around the sharp need for reduction and mastery of complexity, scalability of solutions and organisations, and anticipation of future disruptions.”
In parallel with this new role, Mr. Rives will ensure the handover of missions linked to his current CTO position in the coming months. This will secure the continuity of the technical department’s activities that he has been in charge of since the company’s creation.
