La Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur rejoint la plateforme GIREVE en tant qu’opérateur de recharge afin d’ouvrir son réseau Prise de Nice à tous les utilisateurs de véhicules électriques.

French Nice Côte d’Azur chooses Gireve to open its charging network

French Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur (MNCA) involves further in energy transition and emobility services. The operator joined GIREVE’s roaming platform as Charge Point Operator to open its Prise de Nice network to all EV users.

The operator developed one of the first French e-carsharing networks, implemented its first charging stations in 2011 and took many further actions to foster e-mobility.  Subsidies for e-bike or e-scooter sharing have been available since 2011, and for e-car since 2017. E-buses are being developed too, with a first fully electric line in 2020. The Métropole then set up a very advantageous price list on its stations, with free charging for 2 hours and a price per hour from 1 to 2€ depending on the power delivered.

French Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur joined GIREVE’s roaming platform as Charge Point Operator to open its Prise de Nice network to all EV users.

“Christian Estrosi, our President, is very engaged in energy transition. He encouraged the implementation of several projects in energy transition and infrastructure development on the territory. Getting connected to GIREVE enables us to develop our services and meet the growing needs of charging in touristic periods” Jérôme VIFFREDO, Sustainable mobility Deputy Director, Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur

In 2019, the Métropole asked Izivia to modernize the existing network and to develop new stations with two objectives: spreading the network on the territory, modernize the stations to increase the maximal power available, and increase infrastructures in park & drives. Among the 320 charging stations of the network, 4 deliver fast charging with more than 40 kW, and 30 deliver accelerated charging with a maximum power of 22 kW. The modernisation of the network will enable the operator to double the number of accelerated charging points.

By connecting to GIREVE, the Métropole makes its network visible to all EV users, and accessible via the user’s app or badge.

The numerous tourists from France and border countries will be able to charge and benefit from the network’s services without subscribing to them.

The aim is to be accessible by the greatest number of people, thanks to the partnership with GIREVE, but also through the advantageous price list and the development of the network on the territory of Nice Côte d’Azur.
