France EV Charging Points: 123,000 in March 2024 according to the charging infrastructure barometer by AVERE France and the Ministry of Ecological transition, based on data by Gireve

123,347 charging points in France – March 2024

As of February 29, 2024, the number of charging points in France reaches 123,347. This number includes publicly accessible charging points, reflecting a year-over-year increase of +36%. This barometer is compiled by Avere-France and the Ministry of Energy Transition based on Gireve’s data.

Despite a shorter month, there were more chargers installed in February than January this year with 3002 charging points (+2,49% growth). However, the 12-month growth rate fell below the 40% mark for the first time, to +36%. The availability of recharging points seems to have stabilized at the start of the year, after a year of regular declines in 2023. It reached 81% in February 2024, with disparities depending on the power of the charging points. Lastly, we note that the price of charging in B2B is falling for both AC (€0.32) and DC (€0.33). The first months of 2024 seem to confirm a trend we identified in our last half-yearly report on charging prices that covered the second half of 2023.
