As of October 31st, 2024, France had 150,052 charging points open to the public, representing a 35% increase in their number in one year. This barometer is produced by Avere-France and the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, based on data from Gireve.
This October, we’re continuing our mission to inform with a new, enhanced edition of our monthly EV charging report. Following our integration with Afirev, this report includes technical availability indicators from Afirev’s Service Quality Observatory. It also adds energy consumption metrics and a new measure: immediate access to charging. This metric shows the chance of finding at least one available and unoccupied charging point per station. The update also allowed us to refine existing indicators. We continuously improve data processing from charge point operators to ensure high quality. This month’s data shows a temporary slowdown in new installations, with just 384 additions. Several operators conducted network updates, which affected the numbers. October’s data is an adjustment, and we expect a return to normal in the next release.
